The Hobby Center is the central hub for artists and audiences in Houston and is the driving force in the performing arts ecosystem.

As part of our mission to serve as a connector, convener and incubator for all Houston audiences, artmakers and arts organizations, we are excited to showcase the Hobby Center’s Arts Partners which reflect the vibrancy and diversity of our city on and off the stage. These partners are local, nonprofit arts organizations, who are devoted to annually presenting events at the Hobby Center annually and offering a wide range of exceptional artistic and educational programming.

Apollo Chamber Players

A “dynamic ensemble…creating programs in response to current events” (NPR)

Chamber Music America’s 2025 Ensemble of the Year, Houston-based Apollo Chamber Players is a “dynamic ensemble creating programs in response to current events” (NPR) that “recasts music for a diverse and multi-ethnic generation” (Strings Magazine). Apollo has performed at Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, and on APM’s Performance Today, commissioned over 60 multicultural works, and collaborated with renowned artists including Jennifer Higdon, John Corigliano, Jerod Tate, and George Takei. The ensemble’s albums, released on Grammy-winning Azica Records, and its debut feature film MoonShot have earned international acclaim. Founded in 2008 by violinist Matthew J. A Houston Cultural Treasure, is a 31-year non-profit organization for the promotion of cultural arts of India

The mission of the Indo-American Association is to bridge cultural divides by showcasing the rich heritage of the Indian subcontinent through multi-disciplinary performing arts, as well as cultural, educational and artistic expressions. IAA presents a thoughtfully curated season of up to 10 live shows each year, in addition to participating in several community outreach initiatives. Each season’s line-up has included a blend of the art disciplines of India – music, dance, and theater. Cross-cultural collaborations between artists from India, US and other countries have also been showcased over the years. Texas Medical Center Orchestra

Founded in 2000, TMCO is one of the few community orchestras in the United States to be based in the medical community

Each year, TMCO performs concerts in the Crain Garden Lobby of Houston Methodist Hospital and various locations within the Texas Medical Center as well as in premier concert halls in Houston. In addition, TMCO contributes to the community and has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to the MS Society and has performed free concerts for tens of thousands of Houstonians. tmcorchestra.org

Virtuosi of Houston is dedicated to mentoring and inspiring the next generation of talented young musicians in performing symphonic music and to become valued contributors to their communities.

Its goal is the education and development of young talented musicians into true professionals, who would be sought after by the premier Conservatories and who would pursue a musical career as performers, educators, and advocates of classical music. Virtuosi provides the opportunity for every talented youth in the Houston area, regardless of race, religion, or income to receive the best education in the field of classical music so that they are competitive in their objective to be music professionals.

As a chamber orchestra with only 50-60 musicians, Virtuosi of Houston makes it possible for each musician to experience increased confidence, leadership, responsibility, and performance skills to move their musical ability to a higher level. virtuosiofhouston.org
